Iowa COVID-19 Cases Now Over 200-Thousand ; Hospitalizations Drop Again

The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations in Iowa is down for the second day in a row, currently at 1,447. That's 69 fewer than the day before.

COVID-19 patients in ICU are down 11 to 286. There are 144 patients on ventilators, which is up by nine.

In the northwest Iowa region, COVID-19 hospitalizations is at 197, which is a decrease of 27.

 

There were over 33-hundred more positive cases confirmed from 10am Thursday to 10am today (Fri) to bring the Iowa total over 203-thousand.

There have been 52 more cases confirmed in Buena Vista County, putting the county's total at 2,846.

There are now five active cases on the Buena Vista University campus, according to the BVU website. That's down one from earlier this week.

 

There have been 25 more deaths reported statewide, including the 9th in Ida County. 2,127 Iowans have now died of COVID.

There have been over 15-hundred additional recoveries. Over 114-thousand of the Iowa cases have recovered.
