Cherokee Man Arrested After Accident Near Sioux Center

A Cherokee man was arrested after an accident late Sunday afternoon near Sioux Center.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident shortly before 6pm Sunday just east of Sioux Center.

34 year-old William Sisemore of Cherokee was driving east on 390th Street when he lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch. Sisemore was not injured, but his vehicle sustained about two-thousand dollars in damage.

During the investigation, deputies determined Sisemore’s driver’s license was barred, they also discovered illegal drugs in his possession and suspected he was under the influence of alcohol.

Sisemore was arrested and transported to the Sioux County Jail, where he was charged with third offense operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine, driving a motor vehicle while driver’s license barred, and no insurance.
