A Cherokee man who threatened several people at an apartment complex was sentenced this week in Buena Vista County District Court to four years in prison.
40-year-old Sefton Akin entered a guilty plea last month for two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, both aggravated misdemeanors.
Akin was arrested in March for threatening several people with a knife at the apartment complex at 1726 East Milwaukee Avenue. Akin was reportedly intoxicated, and was located by officers in a nearby apartment. There were no injuries.
Akin was sentenced to two years for each count with the Iowa Department of Corrections, and the sentences will run concurrently.
