Red Flag Warning/Wind Advisory in Effect Today
October 14, 2020 7:44am
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Storm Lake area today (Wed) from 1 to 7pm.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Highs in the low 70's are expected today, with wind gusts of 40 miles-per-hour, or possibly higher.
A Wind Advisory is also in effect from 1 to 7pm. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Use extreme caution if working outdoors or in harvest activities. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
