Three Charged After Search Warrant Executed Due To Man Threating Ex-Girlfriend With Chainsaw

Three people were charged after the Clay County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 4200MI of 270th Avenue near Gillett Grove back on October 4th after a man threatened his ex-girlfriend with a chainsaw.

The search warrant stemmed from a report that 30-year-old Jaykie Harrington (pictured above) of Gillett Grove was chasing his ex-girlfriend around the property with a chainsaw and threatening her. Harrington also choked a five-year-old child during the assault. During the execution of the search warrant, 24-year-old Hayle Byerly of Gillett Grove and 34-year-old Caleb Brewer of Marathon were also located at the residence.

Harrington was charged with Going Armed With Intent, 2nd Offense Domestic Abuse Assault, Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury, Child Endangerment-Substantial Risk, 3rd Offense Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Brewer was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Byerly was charged with 3rd Offense Possession of Controlled Substances, Unlawful Possesion of Prescription Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All three were booked into the Clay County Jail.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the O'Brien County Sheriff's Office, the Iowa State Patrol, and Iowa Drug and Narcotics Enforcement.
