Harvest Update in Latest Crop Progress Report

The latest USDA Crop Progress Report shows corn for grain harvested in Iowa reached 42-percent through last week, over three weeks ahead of last year, and almost two weeks ahead of average. 64-percent of the corn in northwest Iowa has been harvested.
Nearly one-quarter of Iowa’s soybean crop was harvested last week, with 78-percent now harvested, over three weeks ahead of last year and over two weeks ahead of average. In northwest Iowa, 92-percent of soybeans have been harvested.
Iowa farmers had nearly a full week to harvest their crops with 6.6 days suitable for fieldwork last week. 6.6 days was also the number of days suitable for fieldwork in northwest Iowa.
Field activities again included baling corn stalks, applying fertilizer and manure, and fall tillage.
