Humboldt Scores Win Over Storm Lake

Caden Matson threw three touchdown passes and ran for another leading Humboldt to a 28-7 win over Storm Lake Friday night at Humboldt.

Matson finished the game 11 of 15 through the air for 187 yards and he gained 72 yards rushing on 16 carries.

The Wildcats had 318 yards of offense compared to Storm Lake's 216 and they held a 14-7 halftime lead. The only Tornado touchdown was David Soto's 13 yard touchdown run that tied the game at 7-7 early in the 2nd quarter.

David Soto led the Tornadoes in rushing with 58 yards on 12 carries and was 8 of 14 through the air for 66 yards.  Jesus Soto had four rushing attempts for 41 yards, and Ben Raveling carried the ball six times for 28.  Jailen Hansen had four catches for 37 yards and Beau Boeckman had three recpetions for 26.

Storm Lake had three turnovers in the game and fall to 0-2 and will play again next week at Bishop Heelan.
