Ryleigh Allgood tossed a three-hit shutout and the Lisbon Lions Beat Newell-Fonda 3-0 in the quarter-final round of the class 1A state softball tournament Tuesday night at Fort Dodge.

Allgood improved her season record to 18-2 collecting three strikeouts in the process, she allowed no walks and hit one batter while throwing 81 pitches in her complete game gem.

The Mustangs three hits all led off innings but they failed to get a clutch hit when they needed it and stranded six base runners.  Ella Larsen led off the 2nd inning with a double to left center, McKenna Sievers led off the 3rd with a single to right field, and Mia Walker led off the 5th inning with a single.

Kierra Jungers pitched well despite the loss, as the 8th grader went the distance allowing one earned run on six hits, striking out two and walking one.

Newell-Fonda, making their 12th state tournament appearence in the last 16 seasons, finishes the year with a record of 18-3.

Lisbon, now 21-3, will face Clarksville in the semi-final round Wednesday night at 7:30pm.
