July 09, 2020 11:50am

The Storm Lake Police Department concluded a lengthy investigation late Wednesday afternoon, as they arrested a woman who was wanted on identity theft and other charges.

28-year-old Sandra Chaidez of Storm Lake was arrested in the 800 block of Flindt Drive. Chaidez was wanted on a Buena Vista County warrant charging her with Possession of Stolen Property, a simple misdemeanor...Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, an aggravated misdemeanor...Five counts of Identity Theft, an aggravated misdemeanor...and On-Going Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony

The warrant stemmed from a report to the Storm Lake Police Department in January of this year alleging theft of property. Following a six-month investigation, police allege that over several months Chaidez stole personal information from six different victims in order to obtain personal property and apply for credit in their names without permission.

Chaidez was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Buena Vista County jail on a ten-thousand dollar bond.

The Storm Lake Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the United States Postal Inspection Service.
