Ida Grove Woman Seriously Injured in Crash

An Ida Grove woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred shortly before noon on Monday.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened on Highway 175, east of Market Avenue in Ida County. A 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 20-year-old Sahvannah Medina was westbound on Highway 175. For an unknown reason, Medina's vehicle crossed the centerline of the roadway and swiped a semi driven by 29-year-old Mickey Allen of West Bend.
Medina was transported by helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City for serious injuries. Medina was wearing a seat belt. Allen was not injured.
The Ida County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene of the accident.
