Sioux Central Edges Storm Lake

The Sioux Central softball team held on to win 4-3 at Storm Lake in non-conference softball on Friday.  

The game picked up where it left off last Thursday, June 18th with Sioux Central ahead 1-0 with two outs in the top of the 2nd before it was postponed due to weather.  

The Rebels wound up adding another run in the 2nd, before the Tornadoes countered with three runs in the bottom half, including a two-RBI single by Mia Kleespies, and a bases loaded walk to Sam Louwagie.  

Sioux Central tied the game with a run in the 4th, and then took the lead on a sacrifice fly RBI by Maggie McGuire in the 5th.  

Storm Lake got a runner to 1st base on a one-out walk in the 7th, but consecutive strikeouts wrapped up the Rebels win.  

Taylor Krager came on in relief in the 2nd, and picked up the win in the circle.  Skylar Cole struck out nine for the Tornadoes.  Sioux Central improves to 6-3.  

Storm Lake (3-5) will play River Valley in their first game of the Alta Aurelia tournament Saturday at 11am.
