Sioux Central Sweeps St. Mary's

Sioux Central's basketball double-header sweep over Storm Lake St. Mary's began with a 63-43 girls final.  

Sioux Central never trailed, as the Rebels were up 28-19 at halftime.  The Panthers cut it to a five point game late in the 3rd, but Sioux Central then put the game out of reach with a 12-0 run.  

Danika Demers led all scorers with 24 for St. Mary's.  Sioux Central hit 11 threes, and had three players in double-figures, including Taylor Krager with 16, Karly Boettcher had 14, and Jenna Jessen contributed 13.  

Sioux Central improves to 5-3, and drop St. Mary's to 3-2.  


The Sioux Central boys won by a score of 60-37.  

The Rebels led for all except a brief part of the 1st quarter, and built a 28-17 halftime advantage, and St. Mary's couldn't get closer in the 2nd half.  

Caleb Rock had 18 for Sioux Central, as did Mason Laven for the Panthers.  

Sioux Central third win in a row brings them to 3-3, and St. Mary's goes to 1-3.  

The St. Mary's teams host River Valley Thursday, and then travel to Southeast Valley on Friday.  

The Sioux Central squads on Friday play at Pocahontas Area.
