Sleezer, Devitt, Mavericks to play for DII championship

The #4 Minnesota State football team defeated #8 Slippery Rockin the semi-final round of the NCAA Division II football playoffs this pastSaturday afternoon by a score of 58-15.

Thevictory puts the Mavericks at a 14-0 overall record.MSU will now travel to McKinney, Texas for the NCAA Division II National Championship game against #20 West Florida thisSaturday with kick-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Kaleb Sleezer, a 2018 graduate of Alta-Aurelia high school, is a redshirt freshman who is second on the team in rushingwith 715 yards, he has also rushed for seven touchdowns including a 75 yard romp in the win over Slippery Rock.

Chase Devitt, a 2018 graduate of OA-BCIG high school, is also a redshirt freshman who has rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Minnesota State's defensive line coach is Austin Dickinson who coached several positions in five seasons at Buena Vista University andwas a four-year letterwinner and a three-year starter on the defensive line at Buena Vista.
