The Storm Lake basketball teams hosted Emmetsburg Tuesday night for a non-conference double-header.  In the girls game Emmetsburg outscored Storm Lake 43-8 in the 2nd half in their 74-24 win. Molly Schany scored a game high 24 points to pace the E-Hawks.  Holly Dierenfield and Skylar Cole each scored seven for the Tornadoes who fall to 0-4 on the year.

In the boys game Ben Dunlap scored a game high 34 points and Emmetsburg beat Storm Lake 74-62.  The E-Hawks went on a 14-4 first quarter run and led 19-14 at the end of the first and they would build it to a nine point advantage 36-27 at the half.  The E-Hawk lead was still nine points entering the 4th quarter when Storm Lake's Mark Eddie nailed a 3-pointer at the beginning of the final stanza to make it 52-46 but that's as close as Storm Lake would get in the 4th and the E-Hawks made their free throws in the final three mintues to preserve the win.

Storm Lake was led by Jamuo Gatwech's 16 points, David Soto came off the bench and added 13.  Storm Lake falls to 1-2 overall while the E-hawks are now 2-2.

Storm Lake will host Cherokee Friday night starting at 6:15 with the girls game.
