Banks Pleads Not Guilty, Kidnapping Trial Set

The father of two Storm Lake children who were reported missing in December has entered not guilty pleas to kidnapping and perjury charges.

Thirty-two year-old Scott Banks was charged by Storm Lake Police with two counts of conspiracy to third-degree kidnapping, a class “C” felony… and one count of perjury, a class “D” felony. His trial has been scheduled for May 17th in Buena Vista County District Court, with a pre-trial conference on April 28th.

According to police, Banks’ two children… ages one and three… were reported missing on December 14th after the family didn’t turn the children over to the Department of Human Services for an evaluation. Police later located the children at the Alta home of a family member. They were unharmed and turned over the the DHS.

The children’s grandmother… 50-year-old Dionne Pamon was charged by Storm Lake police with two counts of third-degree kidnapping, a class “C” felony. Last month, she pleaded not guilty. with her trial scheduled for March 22nd.
