Alta Aurelia Ag Program Receives Grant

February 03, 2016

The Alta-Aurelia High School agriculture program is receiving a five-thousand dollar grant from the Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education program.

The grant is part of the DuPont Pioneer sponsorship of the National Association of Agricultural Educators grant program. Alta-Aurelia instructor Susan Krummen says the gift provides training necessary for the agriculture teacher to properly teach the course along with financing the cost of all the needed supplies. She says Alta-Aurelia is committed to redeveloping the agriculture program to be full time again. The new science and technology provided with the grant will show the community the district is committed to providing the best opportunities for students.

The grants of 25-hundred to five-thousand dollars help train teachers and supply equipment and resources to prepare students for careers in agriculture and food.
