SL High School Remodeling Delays
December 18, 2015
Work on the new auxiliary gym and auditorium at the Storm Lake high school has been delayed.
Superintendent Carl Turner says curing the concrete has taken longer than expected… and the gym won’t be ready by the end of the basketball season. Since the gym will be used this spring by the music department while the music rooms are being remodeled, installing the new gym floor will be delayed.
Turner says remodeling of the north classrooms is to be done by winter break… the loading dock has been completed… and work continues on the high school auditorium. He says some of the concrete floor has been poured, and plans are underway for the auditorium lighting. The lighting wasn’t included in the initial plan, and is estimated to cost over 200-thousand dollars.
