Polk County Wanted Person Arrest

An arrest was made after the Storm Lake Police Department stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at approximately 9:30pm last Friday near the intersection of 14th Street and Lake Avenue.
Upon contacting the driver, police allege that driver gave false information as to his identity. Police identified the driver as 37-year-old Murphy Sercy of Storm Lake. Police learned that Sercy was wanted out of Polk County on a warrant charging him with 2nd Degree OWI, an aggravated misdemeanor. In addition, police allege that Sercy was driving with a revoked driver’s license.
Sercy was arrested on the Polk County warrant, and the Storm Lake Police Department further charged Sercy with Driving While Revoked, a serious misdemeanor…and Interference With Official Acts, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a 33-hundred dollar bond.
