Child Abuse Arrest
December 04, 2015
The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted a month-long investigation into a report of suspected child abuse in Alta.
According to Sheriff Kory Elston, the investigation began after a report was made to the Department of Human Services by a mandatory reporter, alleging that a six-year-old male was being physically abused.
On November 23rd, the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in the case, charging 30-year-old Andrew Lee Russell of Alta with Child Endangerment, a class B felony. Russell was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail, and later released after posting a 20-thousand dollar bond.
The BV County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office.
