The Storm Lake Police Department responded to an assault at Marketlink at 1407 North Lake Avenue just after 7:45 Wednesday evening.
Upon arrival of police, they met with the reporting party, who alleged that his wife, identified as 22-year-old Shanice Banks of Alta, came to Marketlink and engaged in an argument with the reporting party, at which time, she physically assaulted him. At that time, witnesses called the police.
During an investigation, police further allege that Banks was intoxicated, and that she drove her one and three year old children to Marketlink while intoxicated, and left them in the vehicle when she entered the business to confront her husband.
Following an investigation, police arrested Banks and charged her with Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor…OWI, a serious misdemeanor…Domestic Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Trespass, and Public Intoxication, all simple misdemeanors. She was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
