Iowa Finance Authority Grants

The Iowa Finance Authority Board of Directors has approved a total of more than six-point-three million dollars in grants to 27 Local Housing Trust Funds to support local affordable housing initiatives, which will assist over 24-hundred Iowa families.
The funding is provided from the State Housing Trust Fund’s Local Housing Trust Fund program. The grant funds will be used for initiatives such as preserving aging housing stock, subsidizing local down payment assistance programs, providing low-interest loans or grants to assist Iowans in home rehabilitation, financing construction of new single-family housing for low-income Iowans, and supporting housing for persons with disabilities and homeless assistance programs.
The recipients include the Northwest Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund, which serves northwest Iowa counties, including Buena Vista, getting over 290-thousand dollars…COG Housing, which serves Sac County, is getting over 243-thousand dollars…Homeward Housing Trust Fund, which serves Pocahontas County, is getting more than 295-thousand dollars…Western Iowa Community Improvement Regional Housing Trust Fund, which servies counties including Ida and Cherokee, is getting over 241-thousand dollars…and the Clay County Local Housing Trust Fund is receiving over 45-thousand dollars in grant money.
