BV Case Management Transition Approved
December 01, 2015
Upcoming changes in how Medicaid is administered in the state are generating many questions… but Buena Vista County has decided to end their case management of Medicaid clients at the end of December.
Buena Vista County case management administrator Alicia Gatzemeyer says the county could sign contracts with the private firms taking over managing the program… not sign contracts, but get reimbursements from them with the county’s case managers continuing on the job until the end of June… or end case management with the companies take over the first of the year. The Board of Supervisors decided on that option Tuesday morning… with the county keeping Gatzemeyer as a social worker while the clients transition to the private firm case management.
Gatzemeyer told the Supervisors the county’s two case managers have resigned… so she will provide the transitional services to the 58 clients.
