SL Police Gloves Of Love
November 25, 2015
The Storm Lake Police Association is beginning its tenth annual Gloves of Love Program.
A Christmas tree has been placed in the lobby of the Public Safety Administration Building and citizens are invited to hang children’s gloves and other items of donated clothing along with non-perishable food items and household goods on or near the tree. After collecting the donated items the Police Association will take all of the donated items to the Upper Des Moines Office to be distributed to children and families in need throughout the community.
Association vice president, Lieutenant Chris Cole, says every day they see children and families in need of assistance. He says over the years, it has been incredibly rewarding to bring some joy and happiness to those folks through the Gloves of Love program.
Items can be donated at the police station Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm… or Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
