Miracle On Lake Avenue

Make plans to attend Miracle on Lake Avenue on Thursday, December 3rd in Storm Lake.

With many new activities for you and your family to enjoy, you won’t want to miss this holiday celebration.
The night kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with various kid’s activities sponsored by Storm Lake retailers! This year’s kid’s activities will be located at The Daily Apple, Brown’s Shoe Fit, Buena Vista Stationery and Printing, Hoffman’s Flower and Candle Shop, Osweiler’s Fashions, Storm Lake Bakery, Kristi’s Kandies and Heirlooms, Zone Home Entertainment and Create on Lake.
Stop by various warming stations, also sponsored by Storm Lake retailers, for a warm drink or holiday treat. This year’s warming stations for the evening will be located at Berg Jewelry, Better Day Café, Maurices, Paxtons Jewelry, Santa’s Castle, Sugar Bowl Gift Shop, and The Buckle.
Grab your best elf costume and join Storm Lake Community Ed for the Elf Run! To register or receive more information you can contact Community Ed at 732.5711. There will be two categories of runners with the kid’s category for 12 years and under and adults at 13 and older. Join the fun run on Lake Avenue!
Santa’s Secret Workshop opens at 5:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Masonic Lodge and will remain open until 8 p.m. Santa’s Secret Workshop is a wonderful opportunity for children of all ages to shop for holiday gifts for their loved ones. Gifts at Santa’s Secret Workshop range from $1 to $5 per gift.
To get a break from the cold you can join Ready, Set, Grow Learning Center at their soup supper at the Real Life Community Church beginning at 5:00 p.m. They will be serving Chili, Chicken Noodle Soup, Cinnamon Rolls, with water or hot chocolate. Free will donations will be accepted and all proceeds will go towards the Ready, Set, Grow, Learning Center.
Santa’s Castle will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 3rd. Don’t forget to stop by and tell Santa what you want for Christmas.
The lighted holiday parade is set to start at 6:15 p.m. on Lake Avenue. This year’s theme for the Miracle on Lake Avenue parade is “Bright Lights and Christmas Delights.” The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place immediately following the Miracle on Lake Avenue parade on the Buena Vista County Courthouse lawn.
After the parade be sure to check out Jeff Carver at Lake Avenue Lounge! Jeff is a Storm Lake Native who loves to perform in his hometown. Catch Jeff with his trumpet beginning at 7 p.m. in Lake Avenue Lounge.
