Child Endangerment, Assault Arrest

A Storm Lake man was charged with child endangerment after police early Friday morning were dispatched to 1500 North Seneca Street to investigate a domestic disturbance.
Officers were told by witnesses that 32-year-old Nestor Turcios of Storm Lake allegedly physically assaulted his nine-year-old son by throwing him to the floor and causing an injury to his face. In addition, Turcios reportedly physically assaulted his wife by striking her in the face with his fist.
Turcios was charged with child endangerment, a class “D” felony… and domestic assault, a simple misdemeanor. He was held in jail without bond. A report was filed with the Iowa Department of Human Services.
