FEMA Sewer Project Completed
November 18, 2015
The Storm Lake city council this week approved the final acceptance of three of the contracts for the FEMA sanitary sewer project.
City manager Jim Patrick says the city received over 19-million dollars in grant funds, with the city paying ten-percent. He says the project should keep streets dry and basements from backing up… as it takes care of any issues taking water to the wastewater treatment plant.
The council this week approved the final acceptance of the contracts covering the lift stations, sewer and force main from 13th Street to the water plant, and the wastewater treatment plant.
Patrick says everything is up and running, but there are a few problems with lift stations and pumps being addressed under warranty. A supplemental 112-thousand dollar contract covering odor control systems was also approved.
