Pocahontas County Burglary Arrests

Two men were arrested on various burglary and theft charges after the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office investigated stolen property sold to a junk yard.

Sheriff Bob Lampe says 18-year-old Andrey Plantz of Rolfe and 18-year-old Bryce Long of Dakota City were arrested after a theft of radiators from several vehicles was reported from the Albert City area. The radiators were recovered at a junk yard, where it was discovered the suspects also sold large batteries, which were reported stolen from the Rolfe area. A four-wheeler was also recovered that had been reported stolen from a repair shop in Rolfe.

Plantz was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft, second-degree criminal mischief, all class “D” felonies… fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor… and fifth-degree criminal mischief, a simple misdemeanor. Plantz was jailed on a 25-thousand dollar bond.

Long was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree theft, both class “D” felonies… fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor… and fifth-degree criminal mischief, a simple misdemeanor. Long was jailed on a ten-thousand dollar bond.
