SL United Annual Banquet Recap

125 Storm Lake United members gathered at King’s Pointe Resort Tuesday night for Storm Lake United’s annual Members’ Banquet.
The evening kicked off with a recap of Storm Lake United’s accomplishments over the past year followed by the presentation of 4 business and tourism awards and topped off with entertainment by Scotty Gunther and his Co-Workers’ Challenge.
This year Storm Lake United was proud to be a part of 21 Ribbon Cuttings, 12 Business After Hours, and 24 Storm Lake United Coffees with even more scheduled in the upcoming weeks. Storm Lake United was involved with many great events throughout the year such as LakeFest, SLU Golf Outing, Ridiculous Days, Wood, Wine & Blues, Thanks with Franks, Taste of Storm Lake, Star Spangled Spectacular, Chills and Thrills, Holiday Open House/Passport to Storm Lake, and Miracle on Lake Ave.
Every year Storm Lake United honors businesses that have had a positive impact on business growth and/or tourism in the Storm Lake area. This year Storm Lake United honored 4 member businesses. Award recipients were: A & A Automotive and Tire, Central Bank, Rasmussen Ford and Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership. Jessica Gotto stated, “It’s a huge honor to receive this award. We’ve really enjoyed working with the city and the community to make this project a reality. Thank you so much for this recognition!”
Scotty Gunther provided entertainment at the banquet this year. He is an internationally renowned comedian, author, speaker, emcee, and award winning syndicated radio host. He can currently be seen touring throughout the country and can be heard on his “Funny Feelings” podcast featured on iHeartRadio. At the banquet he entertained the crowd with his “Co-Workers’ Challenge”, which is a mix of teambuilding skills and the newlywed game.
