Newell-Fonda and Sioux Central boys teams both win

The Newell-Fonda boys basketball team scored 48 first half points in their 76-23 win over Paton-Churdan Thursday night at Newell. Treyton Mahler scored 15, Tanner Gerke had 12, and Aden Mahler chipped in with 11 as the Mustangs (18-4) advance to the district semi-finals next Tuesday at Algona where they will play Harris-Lake Park at 6:30pm. The game will be broadcast on 92.9 KKIA.
At Hull, the Sioux Central boys basketball team beat Emmetsburg 67-57. Jake Hargens made all eleven shots that he took and scored 24 points, and Carter Boettcher nailed five 3-pointers and had 15.
The Rebles, now 14-9, will play Boyden-Hull (19-3) at Sheldon next Tuesday in a class 2A district final at 7pm. The game will be broadcast on 101.7 KAYL.
