Sioux Central Girls Down Ridge View in Regionals

An 11-0 4th quarter run helped Sioux Central to a 46-41 win over Ridge View in a 2A girls basketball region quarterfinal on Tuesday in Sioux Rapids.  

Ridge View led 13-8 after the 1st quarter, and led by as many as 11 in the 2nd quarter.  The Raptors carried a 25-18 lead into halftime.  

A 10-0 Rebels run from the 2nd into the 3rd quarter brought them within 25-24, but Ridge View responded with five straight points, on their way to a 32-27 lead after three quarters.  

A three-pointer by Anya Kistenmacher put Ridge View's lead at 37-31 early in the 4th, but Sioux Central went on the 11-0 run at that point.  A steal and layup by Taylor Krager put the Rebels ahead for good.  

Karly Boettcher had 16 for Sioux Central, and Kally Fahnlander had 12.  

Kistenmacher and Emma Vohs each had 11 for Ridge View.  The Raptors season ends at 11-9.  Their seniors are Kenzee Wunschel and Hanna Blackmore.  

Sioux Central is now 16-6.  The Rebels will play in a region semifinal Friday at Twin Lakes Conference rival Emmetsburg at 7pm, which will be broadcast on Mix 101.7FM KAYL.
