Panther boys move on to district quarters with over WBM

The Saint Mary's boys basketball team won the rubber match with West Bend-Mallard defeating the Wolverines 43-28 Monday night at the Panther Pit.  The win comes just six days after WB-M beat the Panthers 64-50.

Mason Laven was 10-for-10 at the free throw line and scored a game high 17 points, while Chase Hurd scored 13.  Hurd and Bennett Smith were a force in the paint and on the glass for the Panthers who improve to 3-19.

Sam Peters chipped in with nine points and hit two 3-pointers in the first three minutes of the game helping Saint Mary's jump out to an early 8-0 lead.

The Wolverines were led by Thomas Fehr's 10 points and they close out the season with a record of 3-17.

Saint Mary's will now play Bishop Garrigan Thursday night in Algona at 8pm.  The Golden Bears are 18-2.

The game will be broadcast on 97.5FM KBVU
