Storm Lake St. Mary's at Newell Fonda Basketball Recap

The Newell Fonda teams swept Storm Lake St. Mary's Tuesday night, starting with the 2nd ranked Mustang girls 93-28 victory.  

Newell Fonda piled up 39 points in the 1st quarter alone.  The Mustangs had 11 different players score, including six in double figures, led by Maggie Walker with 20, and Bailey Sievers and Ella Larsen each had 15. Newell Fonda has now won 41 straight games, as they go to 14-0 this season, and 5-0 in the Twin Lakes. 

Danika Demers led the Panthers with 16, as they're now 6-5, 2-3.  

 

The Newell Fonda boys also pulled away, winning by the score of 83-32.  The Mustangs scored 30 1st quarter points, as they had 14 players put points on the board.  Tanner Gerke and Aden Mahler each had 16, and Treyton Mahler chipped in 12.  Newell Fonda drilled 12 threes.  

Sam Peters topped the Panthers with 11, and they fall to 2-9, 1-4.  

Newell Fonda ups their record to 10-3 overall, and 3-2 TLC. 

The St. Mary's teams have their homecoming games on Friday against Manson Northwest Webster, which will be broadcast on Mix 101.7FM KAYL.  

The Newell Fonda squads host Southeast Valley on Friday.
