St. Mary's at Alta Aurelia Basketball Recap

The Storm Lake St. Mary's girls scored 15 straight points during the 2nd quarter, helping them to a 43-30 win at Alta Aurelia in Twin Lakes Conference basketball Tuesday.  

The Panthers big 2nd quarter propelled them to a lead that got as large as 20, and they were up 30-12 at the half.  Alta Aurelia's pressure defense helped pull them within 35-25 after the 3rd.  The Warriors got within seven early in the 4th, but no closer.  

Danika Demers led all scorers with 20 for St. Mary's, as they're now 6-4 on the season.  Brielle Engelmann had 16 for Alta Aurelia, as they go to 2-10. 


The Alta Aurelia boys led throughout in their 66-27 win.  

Anthony Krier had a game-high 20 for the Warriors, and Logan McCoy added 10.  Mason Laven had 11 for St. Mary's, as they fall to 2-8.  

Alta Aurelia goes to 5-5.  The Warriors teams host Storm Lake on Thursday, and they'll be broadcast on Mix 101.7FM KAYL.  

The Panthers teams play at East Sac on Friday, which will be carried on KAYL.
