OA-BCIG Advances to Dome

OA-BCIG is moving on to the UNI-Dome for the first time, as they defeated defending champion Prairie City Monroe 48-20 in a 2A quarterfinal in Ida Grove.  

The Falcons scored on their first four drives, starting with the opening series of the game, as Cooper DeJean capped a four-play, 46 yard drive with a 36 yard touchdown pass to Carson Godbersen, and Caden Wareham's PAT made it 7-0.  

PCM answered back with a 12 play, 65 yard scoring drive.  Aiden Anderson rushed for a ten yard touchdown to tie the score at 7-7.  

OA-BCIG followed with 27 straight points, starting with an eight play, 73 yard drive, as DeJean's 31 yard TD run made it 13-7.  A seven yard pass for DeJean to Easton Harms, and ten yard DeJean TD run upped the lead to 27-7.  The Falcons defense then put points on the board, as Sam Devitt intercepted a pass inside the ten and took it for a touchdown to make the score 34-7.  Sage Burns had a six yard touchdown run for the Mustangs on the ensuing possession to make it 34-14 at halftime.  William Grote picked off a pass for the Falcons with 34 seconds to go in the half.  

The 2nd half began with a turnover on downs, and then four consecutive punts.  Late in the 3rd quarter, Cooper threw a 28 yard touchdown to Cam Sharkey to increase the lead to 41-14.  

The next PCM drive culminated with an Easton Harms 100 yard interception return for a touchdown.  Burns had a nine yard run to cap the scoring.  

OA-BCIG had 386 yards of offense.  DeJean completed 23 of 38 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed 14 times for 73 yards and two scores.  Harms had 12 catches for 96 yards, and Jake Nieman caught three for 73, and Godbersen had three receptions for 70 yards.  

PCM (8-3) had 460 yards of offense, led by Anderson's 305 rushing yards.  

OA-BCIG is now 11-0, and they will play in a 2A semifinal game in Cedar Falls next Saturday, November 16th at 4pm against Algona, also 11-0.  The game will be broadcast on 92.9FM KKIA.  Waukon will play Williamsburg in the other 2A semifinal at 7pm.
