The Storm Lake Community Foundation, Storm Lake CommUNITY Education and the Field of Dreams Ball Park have teamed up to once again offer girls' “Fall Ball” for Storm Lake student-athletes.

The fall softball league will feature two divisions and is open to high school and junior high students. Games will take place at the Field of Dreams from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays for five weeks in September and October. Each team will play 10 games against other squads from throughout the area.

“Fall Ball is a great way for our student-athletes to get together on the weekend and play some softball without having to travel long distances and while the weather is still relatively nice,” said Joe Kucera, SLCSD Director of Community Education. “It is a terrific opportunity for area youth to keep their softball skills sharp and have some fun this fall. We’re looking forward to another fantastic season.”

This season, eight high school and six junior high teams—and a total of about 160 student-athletes—are slated to participate in Fall Ball.
