July 22, 2019 9:55pm

Abby Kraemer threw a one-hit shutout, leading Alta Aurelia to their first ever state softball victory 2-0 over Central Springs in a 2A 1st round game on Monday.

The Warriors scored both runs in the 2nd.  Jessica Larson was hit by a pitch to open the inning.  Shea Peterson reached on an infield single, and runners wound up at 1st and 3rd after a throwing error.  Peterson stole 2nd base, and Mallorie Jacobson and Sierra Hill each delivered RBI groundouts.

The only hit allowed by Kraemer was a one-out double by Kaylea Fessler in the 3rd.  Kraemer struck out nine and walked three.

Alta Aurelia tallied six hits.  Jessica Flaherty, Larson, and Peterson all had two.  6th-seed Alta Aurelia is now 21-9, dropping the Panthers to 28-8.

The Warriors will play 2nd seed East Marshall in the semifinals Wednesday at 5pm.  The game will be broadcast on 92.9FM KKIA.
