Storm Lake Softball Wins Convincingly at Poky

The Storm Lake softball team picked up a 12-1 win in five innings Tuesday night at Pocahontas Area.  

The Tornadoes broke the game open in the 5th, as they sent 14 batters to the plate and scored eight runs.  

Winning pitcher Skylar Cole threw a two-hitter, walked only one, and struck out eight.  At the plate, Cole had two doubles, an RBI, and two runs scored. Rowan Kolpin had an RBI triple as part of a three-run 1st inning, and had two RBI's total.  

Joy Herman drove in the Indians only run on an RBI groundout in the 1st inning, as Poky falls to 1-24.  

Storm Lake is now 14-16, and they'll host Western Christian on Wednesday.
