Registrations are being accepted for a five-session educational program for farm and agribusiness women.
The “Women Marketing Grain” event is hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Farm Management Specialist Alexis Stevens, as well as the Buena Vista, Cherokee, and Ida County Extension Offices. The program will be held from 6 to 9pm at the Cobblestone Inn in Holstein for five consecutive Mondays beginning January 8th. A complimentary meal will also be provided at 5:30pm each night.
Participants will learn how to manage price risk using tools like forward contracts, futures and options contracts, alternative marketing contracts, and crop insurance. Participants will also work in a computer lab to access online decision tools and to develop a marketing plan.
Registration for the five sessions and 75 dollars, and can be completed at the ISU Extension website. For assistance signing up or more information, contact the Ida County Extension Office.
