Women Managing Farmland Forum Scheduled in Storm Lake

A “Women Managing Farmland Forum” will be offered in Storm Lake next month.

The event will be held on Friday, September 6th from 10am to 3:30pm at King’s Pointe Resort. The forum provides a valuable opportunity to refresh conservation, leasing, and estate management skills while networking with other women in agriculture. Topics will include erosion, soil fertility and water management, land owner responsibilities and economics of farmland, as well as trusts, taxes, and transition planning. The forum is designed to help attendees meet their long-term farmland management goals. By combining strategies, women can design equitable farmland leasing, adoption of conservation practices, and efficiency in transitions to next-generation farmers.

The forum is also meant to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Annie’s Project” in Iowa. There is no cost to attend. Registration is required. Go to the ISU Extension website.
