Foul play is not suspected after a woman was discovered dead in a vehicle that was located in a river at a Sac County park.
The Sac County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an overturned vehicle in the North Racoon River at Hagge Park shortly before 10:20 this (Fri) morning. The vehicle, a 2003 Red Jeep Cherokee, was pulled out of the river via a tow truck. The deceased woman was identified as 30-year-old Samantha Trimpe of Breda.
Based on tire marks at the scene, the travel direction of the vehicle indicated no sudden breaking or change of direction before the vehicle went into the river. Trimpe’s body will be sent to the Office of the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
The Sac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sac City Police Department, Sac City Fire Department, Sac County EMS, and the Sac County Medical Examiner Investigator.
