Woman Charged After Threatening to “Shoot Up” Storm Lake Restaurant

A Cherokee woman was arrested late last week for allegedly making threats in a Storm Lake restaurant.

According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were called to the King’s Pointe Regatta Grill at approximately 9:30 Friday evening. Regatta staff informed police that a customer, identified as 21-year-old Neva Villarreal of Cherokee, had threatened to “shoot up” the restaurant after she became upset over an order.

Villarreal was taken into custody on scene without incident. She was charged with Threats of Terrorism, a class D felony…and 1st Degree Harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor. Villarreal was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a seven thousand dollar bond.
