This past Sunday evening, May 14th, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single-vehicle rollover at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 10 and 492nd Street West of Peterson.
After further investigation, it was found that 36-year-old Amber Wetherell, of Peterson, lost control of her 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and ended up in a nearby ditch.
The vehicle rolled onto its roof as Wetherell was attempting to exit. Deputies on the scene determined that Wetherell was under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested for an OWI 1st Offense, a serious misdemeanor.
Wetherell was transported to the Clay County Jail where she was booked and is currently awaiting an initial appearance before a judge.
