The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Storm Lake area from 5pm today (Fri) to noon tomorrow (Sat).
Mixed precipitation is expected. Freezing rain will be the main hazard with accumulations between a tenth of inch to two-tenths of an inch possible. There will also be up to an inch of snow and sleet accumulations. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions that could impact the commute this (Fri) evening.
The National Weather Service advises drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions in the state can be obtained by calling 5-1-1, or go to 511ia.org.
