WiFi Hot Spots and Laptops Now Available for Checkout at Storm Lake Library

WiFi hot spots and laptops are now available for checkout at the Storm Lake Public Library starting today (Mon) thanks to digital access program.

The Storm Lake library has been chosen to participate in “Community Connect : Fostering Digital Access.” The American Library Association and Capital One initiative helps rural libraries offer internet access and financial education for their programs. The Storm Lake Library is one of 30 across the country taking part in the initiative.

Five Verizon WiFi hot spots and five HP laptops are available for checkout to the public. The checkout period is for up to seven days, with no grace period or automatic renewal. Hot spot/laptop checkouts are available to library card holders ages 18 and older. One hot spot can be checked out per household at a time.

The Storm Lake Library is also receiving a two-thousand dollar cash grant to support public education programs including household budgeting, internet safety, device technology, and more.
