Wanted Storm Lake Resident Located, Found to be in Possession of Contraband While Being Booked in Jail

A Storm Lake resident who was wanted in Ida County was located in Storm Lake late last week, and was found to be in possession of drug-related items while being booked in jail.

According to the Storm Lake Police Department, an officer located a wanted individual Friday afternoon at 207 East Milwaukee Avenue. 49-year-old Eliza Rodriguez was wanted on an Ida County warrant for Contempt regarding failure to pay fines. Rodriguez was taken into custody and transported to the Buena Vista County Jail. During the booking process, police allegedly located drug paraphernalia and a quantity of methamphetamine concealed on Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was charged with Possession of Contraband in a Correctional Institution, a class D felony…2nd Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, an aggravated misdemeanor…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Rodriguez was booked into the BV County Jail on a 17 thousand 300 dollar bond.
