A wanted Dickens man who allegedly stole a vehicle was taken into custody on multiple charges over the weekend.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, there was a warrant for the arrest of 48-year-old Michael Daniels. A Clay County deputy attempted to apprehend Daniels in Dickens shortly before 9pm Saturday. Daniels took off which led to a foot pursuit. He was taken into custody a short time later.
Following an investigation, it was discovered that Daniels had stolen a vehicle in Story County earlier Saturday. The stolen vehicle was located a short distance from where Daniels was apprehended.
Daniels was charged with 1st Degree Theft, Interference With Official Acts, and Driving While Barred. He was booked into the Clay County Jail.
