Two More Teens Charged in Fight That Led to Serious Stabbing Injury

Two more teenagers have been charged in connection to a fight earlier this week that resulted in a 15-year-old receiving serious stab wounds.

On Thursday, a 15-year-old male from Storm Lake was charged with Rioting, a class D felony…and Assault While Participating in a Felony, a class D felony. A 16-year-old male from Storm Lake was charged with Rioting. They were each issued juvenile referrals, and transported to the Central Iowa Detention Center in Eldora.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible. Storm Lake Assistant Police Chief Patrick Diekman previously estimated that between ten and 15 people were involved in the fight.

The fight happened on Tuesday evening at the intersection of Seneca Street and East Lakeshore Drive. Two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old were previously charged in the incident. All three were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.

The teen who received the stab wounds ended up being airlifted from the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center to another hospital.
