A severe storm caused noteworthy damage in Buena Vista County late yesterday (Tues) afternoon.
According to Buena Vista County Emergency Management Coordinator Aimee Barritt, damage assessments are ongoing regarding the storm that impacted the county around 3:20pm yesterday (Tues). Preliminary indications are that four homes were impacted by the storm. Power outages occurred as well as downed power lines on 550th and 570th Streets between 50th and 60th Avenues. Damage also occurred to the BV County secondary roads system which is currently being evaluated. No injuries were reported.
The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office’s drone has flown over the area, and the footage has been sent to the National Weather Service Office for further study. Along with BV County Emergency Management and the BV County Sheriff’s Office, responding agencies included the Alta Fire Department and BV County Communications.
