A three-vehicle crash led to multiple injuries last week in Clay County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 4:45pm this past Thursday just west of Greenville at the Highway 71 and 435th Street intersection. 27-year-old Anthony Trierweiler of Spencer was driving a pickup truck southbound on the highway. Trierweiler was waiting to turn east onto 435th Street and was rear-ended by a truck driven by 40-year-old Kathleen Zeka of Laurens. Trierweiler’s truck was pushed into the path of an SUV driven by 29-year-old Jezebel Velazquez of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Velazquez and Trierweiler, as well as a passenger in one of the vehicles, 23-year-old Abigail Munger of Storm Lake, were injured. All three were wearing seatbelts, and they were all transported to the Spencer Hospital. Zeka was cited for following too closely, and for not having insurance.
