A two-vehicle collision late last week in O’Brien County sent a Sheldon teen to the hospital.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says the accident took place around 5:30pm Friday west of Sheldon at the intersection of Highway 18 and Pierce Avenue. 18-year-old Alexis Wunder of Spencer was driving a 2008 Ford eastbound when a vehicle in front of her stopped. A 15-year-old from Sheldon was driving a 2011 Volkswagen, also eastbound, and couldn’t stop in time. She collided with the rear of the vehicle driven by Wunder.
The 15-year-old driver of the other vehicle complained of injury and was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital. No injuries were reported to Wunder. The 15-year-old was cited for not having a driver’s license and following too closely.
